There’s something about fresh flowers that always catches my eye—especially the kind that aren’t overly styled or overly stiff. Just wild, vibrant, healthy blooms being exactly what they are.
That’s what drew me to a booth at the Osage Beach Farmers Market recently, where I bought a bouquet from Lindsey, the owner of Harvest Mountain Farm (www.harvestmtnfarm.com). It was a mixed bouquet—sunflowers, zinnias, basil, and a few unexpected textures that gave it that straight-from-the-garden charm. Lindsey gave me specific instructions for how to care for them, and I followed every word. The payoff? That bouquet lasted a full 12 days—longer than most grocery store arrangements have ever dared.
So I went back.
🌼 It Wasn’t Just the Flowers
The second time I visited, I stayed a little longer and got to know Lindsey herself. She’s the kind of person who talks about flowers like they’re old friends—thoughtful, animated, and clearly in love with what she does.
She spoke with real passion about the difference between traditional florists and homegrown bouquets—how local flowers often have more personality and staying power. The whole conversation had this wonderful energy to it, the kind that makes you smile without realizing it. That kind of positivity is contagious to me.
It reminded me that Finding My People isn’t always about big friendships or organized groups. Sometimes, it’s just standing at a farmers market booth having a real conversation with someone who clearly loves their craft.

🏡 Flowers That Move With You
When I brought the bouquet home, I didn’t just set it and forget it. I moved it around the condo—sometimes on the counter, sometimes on the dining table, even by the window when I wanted a little extra brightness in a quiet corner. It changed the way the space felt. It made me smile every time I looked at it. Still does.
🌻 The Small Joys That Stay With You
I’ll be going back to Harvest Mountain Farm again, regularly now. Lindsey’s flowers are beautiful, yes—but more than that, they feel like a little slice of peace. A reminder to notice the simple things. To talk to the people behind what you bring home. To soak up the beauty that grows nearby.
Sometimes finding your people starts with finding your flowers.
